General Fylled guidance

Getting startedWho can use Fylled?

Fylled supports qualified professionals in Jamaica, whether their qualifications come from formal training, certification or relevant work experience. It also supports workplaces seeking flexible, urgent or longer-term staffing coverage.

Getting startedWhat is a Fylled ID?

Every worker and workplace receives a permanent Fylled ID automatically when the account is created. Worker IDs use the format FYL-W-000001 and workplace IDs use FYL-B-000001. The ID appears in the account and can be provided when contacting Fylled Support.

Getting startedHow are worker profiles prepared for different roles?

Worker profiles collect the information relevant to the roles a worker wants to perform. This may include identity details, role experience, references, credentials and work eligibility. Each workplace can also identify the role-specific requirements that must be verified before a worker can accept its opportunity.

Bookings & shiftsWhen does a shift become eligible for a review?

For a single shift, the review window opens when the shift ends and remains open for 72 hours. For maternity leave or a long-term contract, it opens after the final shift in that assignment period.

Bookings & shiftsCan someone review a cancelled or unassigned shift?

Yes, but only if the worker had already started the shift when the cancellation or unassignment occurred. If the worker had not started, neither side is eligible to review that assignment.

Payments & ratesHow do timesheets and the website shift clock work?

Clock in from My Work up to 30 minutes before the shift, record unpaid breaks, and clock out when work ends. Fylled uses secure server timestamps and automatically adds the net recorded hours to the timesheet request after the shift. Upload the completed timesheet for workplace approval. The workplace can approve the hours or request a correction before payment processing. If you miss a clock action, message the workplace and submit the correct signed timesheet.

Payments & ratesWhat is a FylledExpress shift?

FylledExpress is Fylled’s short-notice coverage option. It applies automatically to an opportunity posted within three hours of its start time and uses the workplace’s assigned FylledExpress rate.

Ratings & reviewsHow do Fylled reviews work?

Workers and workplaces follow the same rules. A review for a single shift must be submitted within 72 hours after that shift ends. For maternity leave or another long-term contract, the 72-hour window begins after the final shift in that assignment period.

Ratings & reviewsCan each completed booking be reviewed?

Yes. Each eligible completed booking or assignment period can receive a rating and review, even when the same worker returns to the same workplace. This preserves feedback about each distinct work experience.

Ratings & reviewsWhen does the other person see my review?

Reviews are blind during the shared 72-hour review period. Neither side can see the other side’s rating or written review until that period closes.

Ratings & reviewsCan I edit or remove a review?

No. A rating or review cannot be edited after submission. A user may report and appeal a review, but Fylled will remove it only when an investigation finds that it meets the review-removal criteria.

Ratings & reviewsWhat are Fylled’s review-removal criteria?

Fylled may remove a review when an investigation finds that it is false or fabricated; was submitted by someone who was not eligible to review the shift; contains threats, harassment, hate, discrimination, explicit content or another serious policy violation; exposes private or protected information; was coerced, retaliatory or exchanged for payment or another incentive; or relates to a safety report that requires the reviewer’s account and review to be suspended. A negative opinion or low rating is not removed merely because the other party disagrees with it.

Account safety and suspensionWhat happens when a safety report is made?

When a safety incident is opened, both the worker account and the workplace account connected to the incident are suspended pending Fylled’s investigation. While suspended, neither party can leave a rating or review for the affected experience. Any rating or review already submitted for that experience will be removed while the incident is investigated. Fylled will decide whether either account can be restored after reviewing the incident.

Account safety and suspensionHow is a suspended account restored?

Fylled reviews the incident and decides whether the worker account, workplace account or both accounts can be restored. Restoration is not automatic. Fylled may request information before making a decision.

Account safety and suspensionWhat happens when an account is deactivated?

A deactivated account cannot sign in. It remains in Fylled’s Admin records for 90 days and is permanently deleted after that period. The account holder may contact Fylled Support during the 90 day period to request reactivation. Reactivation is subject to Fylled’s review.

Ratings & reviewsHow are reviewer names displayed?

Worker reviewers appear as a first-name initial and full last name, such as M. Brown. Workplace reviewers appear under their full registered business name.

Exam markingWho can request exam markers through Fylled?

Individual teachers and workplaces, including schools and organisations, can request exam markers or graders. Teachers can arrange and pay for their own marking work; workplace requests are arranged and paid for by the workplace.

Exam markingHow do I request exam markers or graders?
  1. 1Open Other Services and select Exam Marking.
  2. 2Choose “I’m a teacher” or “I represent a workplace”.
  3. 3Complete your contact details, marking requirements, dates and proposed hourly or fixed rate.
  4. 4Confirm the privacy declaration and agree to the linked Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
  5. 5Select Review request and check the confirmation summary.
  6. 6Select Confirm submission to send your request to Fylled.

Important: DO NOT SUBMIT STUDENT INFORMATION. Do not include student names, grades, candidate information or any other student-identifying details. Fylled Admin reviews your request before matching markers. The upfront fee is due upon submission. A payment email will be sent.

Exam markingWhat details are needed for an exam-marking request?

Provide your contact details, school affiliation or workplace name, subject(s), grade level or programme, assessment type, number of exam papers, markers required, start date and completion deadline. Choose remote, onsite or hybrid marking and indicate whether a mark scheme and sample marked paper are available. Add any relevant instructions without student-identifying information.

Exam markingHow are exam-marking rates proposed?

Choose Hourly or Fixed rate and enter the gross rate per marker in JMD. Fylled collects a 10% platform fee, so workers see the remaining 90%. For example, J$500 per hour is advertised as J$450 per hour. Review the inline fee breakdown and agree to the payment terms. Submitting the request does not itself collect payment or confirm a marker.

Exam markingWhere does my exam-marker request go after submission?

Fylled Admin reviews the request, verifies the requester and confirms receipt of the required upfront payment before publishing it to approved exam markers. Interested markers request to book. Admin shares a reviewed resume copy with a teacher; workplaces with accounts can review profiles and select candidates. Submitting a request or applying does not confirm a booking.

Exam markingCan I include student information in an exam-marking request?

No. The request form collects project scope only. Do not enter student names, grades, candidate information or other student-identifying details. You must confirm that you are authorised to arrange and pay for the work, and agree to Fylled’s linked Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Community policiesWhat is Fylled’s Accessibility Policy?

Fylled supports inclusion, belonging and respectful access to work for people with disabilities. Workers should be able to ask about accessibility and reasonable workplace arrangements without harassment, retaliation or unfair treatment. Workplaces are expected to describe relevant conditions honestly, communicate respectfully and provide the accessibility arrangements they have confirmed.

Community policiesWhat is Fylled’s Nondiscrimination Policy?

Workers and workplaces must not discriminate, harass or deny equal treatment because of disability, race, colour, nationality, ethnic origin, sex, pregnancy, religion, age, family status, sexual orientation, gender identity or another protected characteristic. Decisions must be based on legitimate role requirements, qualifications, conduct and availability. They must not be based on prejudice or stereotypes.

Community policiesHow do I report an accessibility or discrimination concern?

Contact Fylled Support and provide the relevant workplace, worker, opportunity or booking details. Fylled may restrict or suspend an account while a serious safety or discrimination concern is investigated and may remove the Disability Friendly mark when a declaration is inaccurate or the workplace does not uphold the policy.

Payments & ratesWhen does a holiday rate apply?

The assigned holiday rate applies to eligible shifts worked on any recognized Jamaican public holiday, including Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Holiday dates are automatically highlighted in the shift details and calendar.

Exam markingHow does the 10% exam-marking platform fee work?

The platform fee is 10% of the gross marking charges, not an extra fee added to the entered rate.

  • Fylled receives 10%; the worker receives the remaining 90%.
  • The advertised rate is the entered rate less 10%, for both hourly and fixed-rate requests.
  • J$500 per hour entered means J$50 per hour in platform fees and J$450 per hour advertised to the worker.
  • The J$2,500 hourly sourcing advance counts toward the final platform fee; it is not an additional sourcing fee.
  • All payments are made to Fylled. Arrangements made outside of Fylled are outside Fylled’s managed services.
Exam markingWhen do I pay for fixed-rate exam marking?

The 10% platform fee must be received and verified by Fylled before a marker is sourced.

  • For a J$10,000 fixed rate for one marker: platform fee J$1,000; advertised worker rate J$9,000.
  • Pay the J$1,000 platform fee to Fylled before sourcing begins.
  • Pay the remaining J$9,000 to Fylled upon completion of the assignment.
  • For multiple markers, Fylled confirms the full project total and upfront fee covering all required markers.
Exam markingHow does the J$2,500 advance apply to hourly exam marking?

The advance is credited toward the final 10% platform fee. The final calculation uses the gross entered hourly rate and agreed hours across the assignment.

  • Pay J$2,500 to Fylled before a marker is sourced.
  • Example: J$500 per hour × 100 total hours = J$50,000 gross marking charges.
  • Final platform fee: J$5,000 (10%). Worker payment: J$45,000 (90%).
  • Credit the J$2,500 already paid against the J$5,000 fee, leaving J$2,500 in platform fees outstanding.
  • Upon completion, pay J$47,500 to Fylled: J$45,000 worker payment plus J$2,500 outstanding platform fees.
  • If the final platform fee is less than the advance, the excess remains a credit. Contact Fylled Support to resolve it; it is not an additional fee.
